ABOUT

I am currently a senior at UNC-Chapel Hill pursuing a career in strategy and branding. In 2019, I developed chronic health issues that prompted an unexpected lifestyle change and led me to my biggest passion: health and wellness. Not only do I express my creativity in cooking, I exercise my strategic social media skills in managing my own Instagram food page, @tanya_tastes.

During my time abroad in Florence, Italy I was able to explore foods all around the world and immerse myself in different cultures. These skills have further developed my interest in communication as well as social & digital strategy. My work ethic is detail-oriented, I am not afraid to ask questions to expand my skills and I am a natural leader. I’m motivated by curiosity and my willingness to learn, I maintain the same drive both in the kitchen and in my professional work.

I have worked with a dynamic range of brands from food to fashion, and my diverse perspective makes me a great fit for working with various clients. I am very organized and detail-oriented, and am confident in my ability to manage tasks efficiently.This site highlights more of my interests as well as some of my favorite work experiences.

E D U C A T I O N 

I am currently a second semester senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill!

 

I'm majoring in Advertising & Public Relations through the Hussman School of Media and Journalism as well as minoring in Entrepreneurial studies. Go Heels!

In Fall 2019, I was able to spend a semester studying abroad in Florence, Italy where I attended Istituto Lorenzo'de Medici. 

I studied Italian cuisine, Renaissance History, and grew my skills in the art of travel writing. I am grateful to have been able to call Firenze my home and hope to live abroad again in the future!

This summer, I worked as a Social Media Marketing intern with Partake Foods, a company that provides a healthy alternative to snacking. Here, I tapped into my special interest of health & wellness and support digital strategy initiatives by:

  • Identify opportunities in the digital space to increase brand awareness across new and existing channels 

  • Managed company communities across platforms including Instagram, Facebook and Zendesk

  • Researching and evaluating emerging platforms & content trends to increase Partake's online presence

  • Identifying unique opportunities for Partake to tap into new communities

  • Conducting case studies to evaluate consumer adoption of product
